The Neuropsychiatry Clinics offer diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, referral, and pharmacological therapy for adults whose psychiatric difficulties arise from co-existing neurological or medical conditions such as:
Such conditions may be associated with psychological or behavioral symptoms such as aggression, mania, anxiety, obsessions, compulsions, psychosis, depression, and self-injury.
These psychiatric difficulties can be diagnosed and treated at the clinics with regard to the complexities of the underlying neurological or medical problems.
The Neuropsychiatry Clinics use many modern diagnostic modalities and treatment services within the University of Chicago Hospitals.
Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory for electroencephalo- graphy, electronmyography, evoked potentials, and polysomnography.
Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Services for neuroimaging including SPECT, CT, MRI, and PET.
