Effects of Intranasal Vasopressin and Oxytocin on Arousal and Aggression: A Pilot Study

Description

The objective of this study is to validate the function of brain vasopressin and Oxytocin receptors in human aggression. Both of these drugs are FDA approved and being used to treat nighttime bed-wetting (vasopressin) and to stimulate labor or breast-feeding (Oxytocin).

You will receive a confidential evaluation to see if you qualify to enter the study. If you qualify, you will then receive a full behavioral assessment and a medical examination at no cost. In addition, you will be compensated for selected research procedures and may receive up to $550 over the time of the study. Parking in a secure garage is available at no extra cost.

Eligibility

  • Between the ages of 18 and 55.
  • Have no serious medical/psychiatric conditions.
  • Meet other eligibility requirements as outlined by the research protocol.

    Duration

    Up to 5 visits over 2 months.

    Compensation

    Up to $550 + transportation
