The general clinics are primarily for evaluation of new patients with undiagnosed psychiatric disorders. It is used as an entry into the system and as one of the primary teaching services for resident psychiatrist and medical students. Patients are evaluated in this program and will continue in the clinic for ongoing medication management and/or be referred to a specialty clinic or individual for additional therapies to treat the identified problems, for example, individual psychotherapy or a group therapy.
